Great interest in Ondatherm Hybrid Green at BAU 2025

Façade greening is a growing trend for various reasons. On the one hand, they provide a positive assessment in the sustainability rating of the building through increased biodiversity, and on the other hand, local building regulations are increasingly demanding green façades in order to improve the urban microclimate and reduce the so-called “heat island” effect in built-up areas.
However, the appropriate combination of sandwich panel façades, which are common as a cost-effective and efficient solution, particularly in industrial and commercial construction, with vegetation on the façade poses a challenge for many planners, contractors and, not least, building owners.

With Ondatherm Hybrid Green, façade greening can be easily planned and implemented on the basis of building authority approval Z-10.4-913.A strip-galvanized Magnelis steel profile is simply attached to the outer cover shell of the wall panel so that no substructure is required behind the insulated building element and no penetration is required for load transfer. An edge support is then mounted on the rail at a distance of 15 cm to 20 cm, which transfers its own weight and the weight of the plants via a vertical support structure into small, separate block foundations created for this purpose. The Ondatherm Hybrid System is therefore only pulled out to transfer the smaller, horizontal forces, which generally means only a slight to medium reduction in the static load-bearing capacity. The problem and our proposed solution were viewed by numerous visitors at BAU and discussed with our experts and partners on site.
